Advisory
I provide selective strategic advisory for organizations working through web modernization, digital governance, platform sustainability, and responsible AI adoption.
This work is designed for teams that need clearer direction, stronger decision-making, and a practical path forward before committing to larger execution efforts.
Featured offer
AI Workflow Advisory for Web Teams
A focused advisory engagement for teams that want to explore where AI can fit into their current development workflow in ways that are practical, responsible, and sustainable.
This work helps teams identify realistic opportunities, clarify risks and concerns, and build a clearer path for responsible adoption.
What this work helps with
Advisory engagements are typically focused on questions like these:
- Where is our current web platform or operating model creating avoidable friction?
- What should we prioritize first when modernizing a content-heavy digital ecosystem?
- How can we improve governance, maintainability, and delivery quality over time?
- What does responsible AI adoption look like for a web or digital team in practice?
- How can leadership make better platform and workflow decisions without overcommitting too early?
Engagement types
I typically work with teams in three ways.
Workshops
Focused sessions that help teams clarify priorities, surface risks and opportunities, and build shared understanding around modernization, governance, delivery practices, or AI adoption.
Strategy sprints
Short, structured engagements that assess the current state of a platform or operating model and provide findings, recommendations, and next-step priorities.
Strategic advisory
Lightweight ongoing guidance for leaders and teams who need experienced perspective on platform direction, team workflows, governance, delivery practices, or AI-related decisions.
Good fit
This work is generally a good fit for:
- higher education institutions
- agencies serving complex or content-heavy organizations
- digital teams with governance, workflow, or modernization challenges
- leaders who need strategic clarity before starting larger initiatives
- teams trying to improve operations without defaulting to a full redesign
Selected advisory work
I have provided advisory services for companies such as Carnegie focused on identifying practical opportunities for AI within the web development team’s existing workflows.
That work included:
- Introductory discussions with members of the web development team about current processes, concerns, and opportunities
- Identifying useful AI applications within the team’s existing workflow
- Delivering a slide deck with recommendations
- Follow-up sessions to present findings, discuss implementation approaches, and answer questions
- Demonstrating possible tools and approaches for responsible adoption
This is the kind of work I’m most interested in: practical, team-centered, and focused on helping organizations adopt new capabilities in ways that are useful, realistic, and sustainable.
What this work is not
This advisory work is focused on strategic guidance, workshops, assessments, and leadership-level recommendations.
It does not include broad freelance development, staff augmentation, or implementation-heavy delivery services.
Credentials
I currently serve as the Director of Web Development at MIT Sloan School of Management, where I lead the development, maintenance, and growth of the school’s public digital properties.
I also regularly speak on Drupal, web modernization, governance, performance, delivery quality, and practical AI adoption for web teams.
